Sheltered App Overview and Details
Sheltered is a post-apocalyptic disaster management game that gives a whole new meaning to the term “nuclear family”. Given a head-start over the billions lost in a nuclear holocaust, you must gather as many supplies as possible en route to the concrete underground shelter that will soon become your family home for the foreseeable dire future.
As the overwhelming despair of this new world surrounds you, how will you survive? Your approach to the countless moral choices you’ll be faced with on a daily basis, could be the difference between the lives of your family or their unfortunate end. Resources are scarce though, with barely enough to cling desperately to life for another day you’re already faced with a monumental choice. Who will you send to venture out into the vast unforgiving wasteland? Whilst exploration is a traumatic experience, the weapons you can craft from resources could tip the scales of life or death in your favour. Assaults from feral beasts and roaming factions are endlessly closing in, imminent and deadly risks surround you.
‘Violence is never the answer’… Maybe you once believed that, but combat may now be your only option for survival. As you and your family grow and progress, so do their skills, attributes and weaknesses. Ensure that they’re well equipped as you strategize, securing victory against those who threaten the survival of your family in tense turn based combat.

Honestly one of the top games on google in the past few yrs, I played the game from the play pass like a yr ago, it’s very well design, great graphics for gameplay, leaderboard isn’t working right or I would be the top score. there’s almost nothing I would change.i play on the hardest difficulty it gets easy if you make lots of freezers.[add-ons]is needed. As multiplayer battle maps with customs setting and co-op servers. With all that being said it’s a Must Have Game. Buying the game atm.👍
The game is an excellent concept. Managing your people is fun, and there is a good amount of procedural events that can mess with your attempts to maximize efficiency (not unlike RimWorld). But the controls are awful. I never know what is clickable and have trouble knowing when I’ve clicked it. Cycling through people is harder than it should be. I need to move my people aside so that they can use the very object they were standing in front of. Expeditions are a neat idea, but you don’t get to see much of them (one of Fallout Shelter’s biggest flaws). Many of the systems clash. It’s fiddly to start or stop a task, and this has led me to for instance, accidentally send my little girl into the wasteland alone without a haz mat suit or a gas mask – 1. I couldn’t cancel the expedition; 2. I already put her and her mother in haz mat suits, and then they took them off when going on the mission; and I didn’t know that the suits don’t have filters, so I didn’t think to pack her a gas mask; 3. When I realized they were leaving without suits, I canceled the expedition for her mom but then had no way to cancel it for her. Placing objects you’re crafting is a nightmare, because I have to find an area outside re hit box in order to move the screen to the correct area. And crafting is also odd because I have no in-game way to know where the components can be found. It is extremely hard to manage the colony’s inventory. These UI issues need to be fixed. And the clashing systems. The underlying gameplay is pretty good, but the design on the surface has too many problems.
I’ve played so many games, and for mobile, this may be the one game that tops them all! Yes, it has its faults (touch controls can be unresponsive), but it kept making me want to continue, and once I got into a somewhat repetitive cycle, I wanted to do it all over again. This game has an RPG feel, Survival (duh), looting, and a bit of micromanaging. I personally recommended if you’re looking for a shelter survival experience.
So overall, it’s not exactly a ” bad game ” but in order to play the game for achievements. You have to play at a horrible disadvantage including the fact you have to have a full family and little supplies to build enough beds for them? The controls are buggy where you can’t “click” an object if an NPC is standing in front of it, so you have to wait for them to move? I think maybe 1$ or 2$ is worth it but so far, no more then that.
Played enough of the game to play through it in hard difficulty with no problems, which in and of itself is a problem. Once you have a firm grasp of the game mechanics and micro-management of the individual characters to prevent any waste of resources, the game just ends up becoming extremely repetitive. The game includes a few quests, but not enough of them to balance out the inevitable mindless wandering you end up doing with your characters since there’s nothing else to do. Also no updates.
A good game, with flaws. My main gripes are the constant shortage of water making progress extremely slow, and the relative scarcity of supplies to upgrade your shelter. After sinking hours into the game I barely had more than one additional room built and nothing fully upgraded. The difficulty is a bit much for the casual gamer. Be prepared to spend lots of time learning the ropes for this one.
My horse just died right after I brought it home, without warning. I had the food for it, I’m still confused. I guess I can only take the horse on small trips, which would not even be worth it. On the flipside, I like that this mobile version has animations, and that the kids are oddly as strong as the adults, all of which are unlike the PC version.
It’s a good game, I definitely had fun playing it the first ten playthroughs. After all if these playthroughs, I started seeing a common trend. The high maintenance micromanagement and lack of necessary supplies such as food (biggest issue by far), was more tedious than it was entertaining. I even ran a family with small-eating traits and still ended up struggling with food, all while trying to craft the necessary items in my shelter to be self-sufficient. I firmly believe the game runs on luck
I would strongly recommend this game. I agree with everyone that the tutorial doesnt touch on nearly half the things that are going to help keep your family alive. But play your first game on easy or normal, its extremely forgiving, and once you get a good grip on the game switch to hardcore mode where every decision will matter a lot and even then things can still depend on luck. Youll probably find yourself forced to become a bandit. Its alot of fun
This game is a “Buy on sale”. I picked it up for $1usd and the gameplay is engaging enough but is quite repetitive. You have to manually manage the bases occupants. Occupants will perform essential needs automatically but every other action is manually done. This game can be slightly frustrating with the clumsiness of the touch control responses. (S-pen compatibility would be great) An update improving touch controls and automating more base activities would change this rating to a 4 star.
